Budding, Blooming, Dying

Camellias in the light

I love how Camellias add a splash of colour to the late winter and early spring garden landscape. Now they’re full of budding, blooming and dying flowers as they mark the change of the season.

  1. Beautiful flowers and photo.

I need to get a macro lens or filter, because I’m really struggling with my new camera – lucky my phone cameras good enough for macros.

    1. Thank you for the lovely comment.
I actually took this photo with a zoom lens – the settings were 1/125 sec f/8.0 at 210 mm. I love having a contrast of clear sky so I had the ISO set at 1600.

  2. Lovely to see all the stages together. It’s a lovely shot. Our Camelia is taking its sweet time this year while all the other bushes I pass in our street are almost finished.
