I watched the rooster and hen walking along together in the stables this week, making quite a din with their clucking, and then noticed the lamb eavesdropping on them. Suddenly I wondered too what were the rooster and hen talking about?

this is so much fun. i just love it! great shot.
Nice photo Kriss! I wonder the same, they seem to be deeply into a philosophical talk.
Love the lamb in the background…works so well in Black & White
Thank you for linking up
hehehe! What a great photo! x
Looks like a serious discussion they are having =P #mysundayphoto
It really does look like they are deep in conversation 🙂 And the lamb is definitely curious!
That’s a great shot – wondering what they were clucking about together and I love the contrast between the colours of the two chickens
It looks like they’re arguing about whether or not they should be taking in a stray lamb – he’s saying no and she’s all wistful and pleading ‘Oh Richard, pleeassssse, can’t we keep him?’
And he replies, ‘No. No, definitely not, you can’t trust anything that has curley feathers.’
Lol – wonder if the hen is called Mary…
Ha! Wow! I absolutely love this picture. Only the cheeky lamb knows what they are talking about 😉
He he just thought perhaps they’re gossiping about the lamb!
oh Kriss i totally love this picture that lamb certainly made me laugh out loud when i noticed it !
Thanks Jaime – it did make me laugh seeing this cast of characters!
What a fab photo, not sure what they were saying maybe it was something like ‘I wish that lamb would stop listening in hehe
It does make you wonder what they’re all thinking about!
Haha such a cool picture I love the lamb at the back of the picture, Clio lending a helping hand for Coombe Mill
Hi again – can I just add a little comment that you don’t need to post … I really struggle to read back the comments I write on your blog as the grey font is so pale against the white. Sorry!
No – thank you for alerting me about the font! Will change now.
I really like this photo and you are right – I wonder what they are nattering about! Oh and you are giving away your American roots still calling him a rooster 😉
he he – just seems a bit more polite than using cock! I guess I could say cockerel instead 🙂
It’s Coq here in France and I always have bite my lip to not smirk when people say it … along with dandelion which is pissenlit! (and thank you so much for darkening up the font x)
Ha ha – what a fab shot, and such a cute lamb x #bwphotoproject
