This is the cock – rooster – at the stables where my daughter rides. Cock a doodle doo crowed the cock (if you’re British and Irish) or the rooster (if you’re North American and Australian).
He’s rather noisy at times. This week he stood on a fence post in front of a door crowing while he basked in the sunlight.
how fabulous is that! corker of a photo
Sorry I’m late visiting but he’s a fabulous fella! Great photo 🙂

He’s very beautiful, great photograph! My Mum has so many animals including chickens. They have a giant Rooster who is very magnificent, he’s called Russell Crow!! 😀
Amazing photography there. Just wow.
Great chook shot!
This is one of the best shots I’ve seen today, absolutely brilliant! We have chickens and I’ve taken 100s of photos of them over the years, I’ve never managed to take one as good as this of our cockerels. Fab shot.

That’s a wonderful portrait. Like a Dutch still-life. He’s beautiful.
WHat an awesome shot. The cock really stands out in the darkness.
My grandparents had a farm when I was younger & they had 2 huge roosters, they were really loud too. One would chase us around just to be mean, hah. He was bigger than we were.
Kriss, you are so incredibly talented… I am always amazed when I see your photos!
What a lovely comment Mel – thank you!
that is such a fab shot. yes i was wondering about the background too but i see from the comments how it happened. he is a magnificent creature!
Great shot. I was going to ask how you got the black background, but I see it was in front of a door. Always nice when animals get in the right position for good photo opportuinties
Thanks Emma – yes he was actually outdoors in the sunlight but the door was open right behind him as a perfect dark backdrop.
What an amazing photo, he is beautiful x
